“Even now, says the Lord, return to me with your whole heart;
for I am gracious and merciful.” ~Joel 2
Dear Parishioners and Friends;
This Fifth Sunday of Lent can be seen as a turning point in our Lenten journey as we enter the final days of this season. The Psalm this weekend praises the God who lifts us from the depths, the God of infinite mercy and redemption. There are less than two weeks before we begin Holy Week, the Sacred Paschal Triduum. Next weekend we will bless palms and celebrate the Passion of the Lord.
Congratulations to our 58 Confirmation candidates who were confirmed by Bishop Matano last Thursday. Our First Communion students have already begun preparing for the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist to be held at the end of April.
Many of you know Sr. Roberta Rodenhouse, a Sister of Mercy, who has lived at the convent here for over 25 years. Due to some health related issues Sister Roberta will be moving to the Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse later this week. We thank Roberta for giving of her time as a parishioner, lector, and a friend to so many here. We will miss her. She will still be driving so don’t be surprised to see her around now and then. Her new address will be Mercy Center, 1437 Blossom Road, Rochester, NY 14618. She is happy to have visitors. We wish her many blessings!
May God bless you!
